Applewood prides itself on building a quality home. In order to do so, we build with quality materials that far exceed the specifications provided by many of the builders in the area. Our homes qualify for the "energy star" designation.
Structural Exterior:
- All exterior walls to be 2" x 6" construction, with 1/2" CDX plywood sheathing.
- Exterior walls to be wrapped with Typar/Tyvex House Wrap.
- Homes sided with maintenance free vinyl siding, colors chosen from Builder's samples.
- Shutters on front of house, colors chosen from Builder's samples.
- Roof to be 30 year warranty Architectural shingles on 1/2" plywood. Ridge vent supplied.
- Foundation shall be 10" thick, 3,000 psi mix. Footings shall be used.
- Circumference drain shall be installed.
- Sills shall have 2" x 6" pressure treated lumber on the bottom layer.
- Subfloors shall be 3/4" tongue & groove plywood, nailed, glued and screwed.
- Precast bulkhead off the back wall or walkout for cellar access to be determined by Builder.
- Front steps shall be precast concrete.
Insulation:
- Exterior wall to have 6" R-19 fiberglass insulation.
- Basement ceiling shall have 3.5" fiberglass insulation.
- Attic floor shall have 10" blown-in insulation.
Exterior Doors and Windows:
- Thermopane windows to be energy efficient vinyl, tilt-in sash.
- Full screens provided.
- Front door to be metal or fiberglass insulated with glass side panels ("side-lites").
- Deck door to be metal patio door. Vinyl slider available. Colonial grid not included.
Plumbing:
- Kitchen to have a single bowl stainless steel sink.
- Connection for washer and gas or electric connection for dryer provided.
- Two exterior sill cocks, one front and one rear provided.
- Fiberglass tub and shower units. From builder's samples.
- Gas fired 50 gallon hot water heater.
Heating:
* Heating to be forced warm air by gas, with high efficiency furnace.
